Archer and I were recently invited to a Mommy and Me Book Club!

Here's how it went: the host selected a children's book (There's a Giraffe in My Soup! by Ross Burach) and invited us all to read it to our kids in the weeks before the book club meeting. Then we all showed up at her house, kids and book in tow. She hired a baby sitter to wrangle all the little ones into a play room while the moms talked and ate snacks, and then after we'd all gotten to know each other we brought the kids back up and read the book out loud to all the kids at once. We talked about how our kids liked or didn't like the book, why, and also just all the weird and funny things kids do. The kids got to make some new playmates, the moms got to meet new mom friends, and everyone got to read a fun new kids book. For days after, my son asked if we could go back to mommy's friend's house to play.

It was so fun!

Our next book will be: Little Blue Truck's Christmas, by Alice Schertle and it has TWINKLING CHRISTMAS LIGHTS on the last page!

Which got me thinking--could we do an A to Z Mama's book club!

We could select a book for the month, and host a chat about the book on Instagram! Let us know in the comments!
